As you know, we had our father’s day segment on Fox 13 yesterday morning. Favorite segments were where John Morgan from the Utah Valley Aeromodelers Club took his nitro raptor 50 RC helicopter for flips and tick-tocks on camera and our RC electric car race in the parking lot. You can view clips of the segment below:
Tomorrow, June 5th from 6-9AM on Fox 13 news with Bug Budah the hobbytron.com guys will be putting on a show up at the Fox 13 headquarters in Salt Lake City. We will be showcasing some of the fun ways to get out this summer and be active outdoors with RC Electric Boats, RC Nitro Trucks, RC Boats, Planes and have the pleasure of having John Morgan, president of the Utah Valley Aeromodelers RC Club on the show who will be doing some AMAZING stunts on his nitro helicopter. We’ll specifically be showing the following RC stuff:
Here at HobbyTron.com We’re always interested in new and unique items, so we were very excited when Parkflyers came out with the first ever 4 CH Dual Purpose RTF Hybrid Air RC Airplane. What makes the Hybrid Air so unique is that it can take off from water or land and that it comes ready to run right out of the box. It comes with a Li-Poly battery that gives you an unbelievable flight time of 18 minutes and a brushless Outrunner motor that gives you plenty of speed and performance. Check out this video from the manufacturer of the Hybrid Air taking off

Most of us here at HobbyTron.com are kids at heart and when we get a chance to spread a bit of fun we jump at the opportunity. We’ve been involved with an orphanage in Mexico and have been able to bring a few smiles to their faces with some of our neat stuff. We recently sent them RC cars, RC trucks and some dolls so the girls didn’t feel left out and in return they gave us some photos of the little ones and their new toys.
You can see some of the pictures below (click on the links for larger images): Image 1 Image 2
We’re always on the lookout for ways we can lend a hand.
Kind of interesting how we just received our largest SuperScale RC Cars recently, and today received the Smallest performance RC Car we’ve ever had When we say that we mean that there are smaller cars out there, but normally RC cars this size are more toys than racers. The mini rush electric RC truggy was burning up the road in our parking lot near our office. We’ve included a video you can watch below.
We had a tough time putting this little guy down. The battery seems to last forever on a single charge which is awesome. Again, you can check it out here on its own page.
We had some fun today in the parking lot with the new SuperScale RC buggy. Since we’ve never had an RC car this powerful or large for that matter, we decided to take our resident longboard pro and see what would happen. We ended up pulling him all over the parking lot and may have invented a new type of public transportation You can check out the video below, and as always can check out the specs on the Mutilator SuperScale buggy on the main site.
Looks like the gadget guys at I4U have picked up on how cool our new SuperScale RC Cars are and have written an article about them which you can find on the I4U News Page. They talk abou the advantages of using the Futaba FM transmitter and about how you end up saving big bucks by using regular unleaded fuel instead of expensive Nitro based fuel. We look forward to more reviews on our SuperScale RC Cars as more people begin to hear about them. As always, you can check out the SuperScale Ford GT and the SuperScale Mutilator on our site.
After months of research and development, we received our first factory direct shipment of the new Hornet 3 Mini RC Helicopters. We put alot of thought into the design and we think we came up with a real winner. We wanted longer fly times, hobby-grade quality, better trim control and a more responsive throttle. So we did it. The Hornet 3 has a 15 step digitally proportional control, precision trim dial that doesn’t reset when you power down the heli like most others a big Li-Poly battery that gives 7-9 minutes of flight and a way cool design Check out the video we made yesterday about the Hornet 3, and check out the images we have on the Hornet 3 Mini RC Helicopter page.
This has been a good week for HobbyTron.com for new cool stuff. Along with our awesome new SuperScale RC Cars, we also received a sizeable shipment of these new little Hughes 300 mini helis. The design is quite different than other mini helicopters in its class. The new mini Hughes uses sturdy plastic construction instead of the EPP foam many helis are being constructed from these days. What we like about the hughes is detail. It has an open cockpit with clear plastic windows so you can see in, and it’s at least an inch shorter than any other mini heli we’ve seen and still retains the detail. Check the Mini Hughes 300 Helicopter page for more some images that show the scaling and details.
We’ve also put up a funny video of our first flight here in our office on Youtube for people to watch. It already had a full charge coming out of the factory so we just needed to flip the switch and we were flying in minutes. Check it out:
