Fox 13 Good Day Utah was a Blast!

Wednesday, June 6th, 2007

As you know, we had our father’s day segment on Fox 13 yesterday morning. Favorite segments were where John Morgan from the Utah Valley Aeromodelers Club took his nitro raptor 50 RC helicopter for flips and tick-tocks on camera and our RC electric car race in the parking lot. You can view clips of the segment below:

Special thanks to John from UVAC for the stunts on the helicopter and thanks to Fox 13 for featuring us on their show.

Attack of the Hornet!

Thursday, May 17th, 2007

After months of research and development, we received our first factory direct shipment of the new Hornet 3 Mini RC Helicopters. We put alot of thought into the design and we think we came up with a real winner. We wanted longer fly times, hobby-grade quality, better trim control and a more responsive throttle. So we did it. The Hornet 3 has a 15 step digitally proportional control, precision trim dial that doesn’t reset when you power down the heli like most others a big Li-Poly battery that gives 7-9 minutes of flight and a way cool design :) Check out the video we made yesterday about the Hornet 3, and check out the images we have on the Hornet 3 Mini RC Helicopter page.

New Mini Hughes 300 Fairy Helicopter is here!

Wednesday, May 16th, 2007

This has been a good week for HobbyTron.com for new cool stuff. Along with our awesome new SuperScale RC Cars, we also received a sizeable shipment of these new little Hughes 300 mini helis. The design is quite different than other mini helicopters in its class. The new mini Hughes uses sturdy plastic construction instead of the EPP foam many helis are being constructed from these days. What we like about the hughes is detail. It has an open cockpit with clear plastic windows so you can see in, and it’s at least an inch shorter than any other mini heli we’ve seen and still retains the detail. Check the Mini Hughes 300 Helicopter page for more some images that show the scaling and details.

We’ve also put up a funny video of our first flight here in our office on Youtube for people to watch. It already had a full charge coming out of the factory so we just needed to flip the switch and we were flying in minutes. Check it out:
