Listening to the Experts Talk About the Palm-Z

Friday, February 8th, 2008

It is one thing to get product information from the company that sells the product, it is another thing completely to get it from somewhere else. What I am going to do here is give you a list of links to multiple reviews for one of our hottest products, the Silverlit Palm-Z. Let’s take the journey together and see what people really think about our products.

The Palm-Z
The Palm-Z from HobbyTron.com

First off, I figured it best that I tell you how we at HobbyTron.com feel about the Palm-Z RC Airplane. Our Palm-Z’s have many hours of flight time, and we have been able to do some pretty fun things with them. Because of the simplicity in operating this fun RC airplane, everyone here has had a go at it and has enjoyed their time behind the controls of the Palm-Z, women and men, old and young alike. This link is a collection of shots of different people flying the Palm-Z.

This review was done by Jeremiah at ModTecPC.com.
ModTecPC.com normally focuses on building customized computers for the business and individual, but they saw how big the mini RC trend is right now, and wanted to review some of the hottest products on the market. I like his simple videos and the many different pictures that he took of the Palm-Z

This next review was done by Shane McGlaun at I4U News.
I4U News is a Technology Life Style Magazine and Shopping Guide. I4U is always ahead of the curve when it comes to finding the next big tech thing to hit the market. In this review they go into detail about what they think of the Palm-Z and how it performed for them.

The last review of the Palm-Z that we are going to look at today is by Gizmodo.com.
Gizmodo is a blog with the sole purpose of writing about tech and gadgets as fast as possible. They review everything, and have a lot of experience in the world of tech. It was unfortunate however that they decided to fly the Palm-Z outdoors.

The Palm-Z is made of very lightweight, durable EPP foam, which, when acted upon by even the slightest wind currents, will severely hinder any attempt at proper flight. When they took it inside, you can see the footage of that, and it flies great. They did teach us something very important though. There is no profit in setting up a counter intelligence spy plane squadron of Palm-Z’s…unless the mission is to bother your sister in the next room.

Good Year Blimpin’

Tuesday, July 10th, 2007

The Air Rage Officially Licensed Good Year BlimpĀ® 3CH 4′ 2″ Long RC Aircraft really is as fun as it looks. How man times have we all seen the Goodyear blimp, or seen it on TV and wondered what it was like to fly one? Now you can! All you need is a little helium for the mylar bubble and everything else takes care of itself.

We love the overall quality of the RC electric blimp. The control is excellent for how affordable it is. Again, all you need to get it going is a little helium and a desire to have some fun.

Take to the Skies and Light up the Night with LEDs!

Wednesday, June 13th, 2007

We’ve carried small and affordable flexible RC Airplanes before at HobbyTron.com, but we’ve never had LED lights on one that flew quite this well. We love the Venom Hawkeye 2CH Dual Electric Motors EPP Foam RTF Electric RC Airplane. What’s really nifty about this plane is that the EPP foam wings will actually bend and twist in a crash, which means no broken wings and no replacing them. The Venom Hawkeye even comes with a couple of replacement props in case you somehow manage to break those in an unexpected landing.

The night-flight LED lights can be turned on or off with a simple switch under the fuselage. They are surprisingly bright for their size and you can easily see them when flying at night. The Venom Hawkeye also charges directly from the controller which uses “AA” batteries. All in all, we love the control, love the lights and were nearly giddy about the EPP construction. Make sure to check out the Venom Hawkeye RC Airplane.

F4 Airship… Land, Sea, Air… No Problem!

Monday, June 11th, 2007

Once upon a time we carried a sweet little RC hybrid called the hydrofoam. They were difficult to get a hold of and we weren’t terribly impressed with the quality at the time so we regrettably pulled them from the site. Low and behold, just recently we were able to get a direct line of new, improved RC hydrofoam RC airships and are excited to make them available once again!

airship

The Airship F4 RC RTR flies when you want it to, lands in water and rides like a boat when you want it to, and as if that weren’t enough, glides on land and over virtually any surface. It gives an amazing amount of control that we loved and the lightweight construction make it really durable and crash resistant. What we really loved about it was the 280/380 Brushless Motor with External Rotor. It comes with a 1300mAH Lithium battery for long fly times. You’ll need to check out the other specs on the F4 Airship at the main site.

Fox 13 Good Day Utah was a Blast!

Wednesday, June 6th, 2007

As you know, we had our father’s day segment on Fox 13 yesterday morning. Favorite segments were where John Morgan from the Utah Valley Aeromodelers Club took his nitro raptor 50 RC helicopter for flips and tick-tocks on camera and our RC electric car race in the parking lot. You can view clips of the segment below:

Special thanks to John from UVAC for the stunts on the helicopter and thanks to Fox 13 for featuring us on their show.

New ParkFlyers HyBrid Air RC Airplane

Wednesday, May 30th, 2007

Here at HobbyTron.com We’re always interested in new and unique items, so we were very excited when Parkflyers came out with the first ever 4 CH Dual Purpose RTF Hybrid Air RC Airplane. What makes the Hybrid Air so unique is that it can take off from water or land and that it comes ready to run right out of the box. It comes with a Li-Poly battery that gives you an unbelievable flight time of 18 minutes and a brushless Outrunner motor that gives you plenty of speed and performance. Check out this video from the manufacturer of the Hybrid Air taking off
