Despite the fact that it has "G-36" stamped on the side, this gun is clearly based on the Heckler & Koch MP7, not the H&K G36. I assume the reason for the odd name mislabel may have something to do with the fact that Umarex has the exclusive worldwide H&K trademark rights and this gun is made by World Tech Arms, a division of World Tech Toys.
My first impression when I received the box is that the gun is pretty small. I would say that this is an inexpensive, but solidly built 2/3 scale H&K MP7 replica when compared to my Umarex MP7 AEG.
The "magazine" is not removable, as the gun is fed by a small hopper that is accessed by sliding the front sight forward. The "stock" does not extend, either, making this more of a pistol than an actual Personal Defense Weapon (PDW) or rifle. It easily fits into my universal pistol holster, which is convenient. Just be aware of this, as it could be seen as a pro or a con, depending on what you plan to use it for.
The rear sight flips up into a diopter-style one, which seems a little odd, considering that the stock doesn't extend. However, the front sight is more like a notched rear sight and without the flip-up rear peep sight, aiming would be tricky, so it all works out fine.
The folding front grip feels sturdy and works great. The side-mounted rails on mine are a little bit warped, meaning they flex inward slightly, but they work just fine for holding the included flashlight, as well as my aftermarket laser.
The flashlight is very cheaply made, but it works fine. It is 100% plastic, except for the small battery compartment screw. It came with a small clear plastic pull-tab between the battery and it's contact point, much like a toy. The bezel around the lens is plastic, as well, and simply slides right off to expose the paper-thin clear plastic "lens". The light, I should add, is blue in color. The light shines blue, I mean. The flashlight housing is all black. Also, in case you are wondering, the flashlight does fit other airsoft guns that have a standard picatinny rail.
The gun also comes with an equally small, but decently well made sling with, surprisingly enough, metal clips that can be mounted to either side of the gun, due to ambidextrous sling mounts, making this good for left-handed airsoft players, too.
The gun is cocked using a charging handle located at the top rear, just like a real MP7. The BB hopper is gravity-fed, so it helps to angle the gun upward slightly when "charging" it.
All in all, this is a pretty well made airsoft gun for the price. It is a spring-type one, so it only fires one shot at a time, but it is made of good, solid plastic, it's put together well, it works great (and shoots harder than expected), and the flashlight and sling are both more than adequate. I'm only giving it four stars due to the fact that I had to file down a number of sharp edges at the seams where the molded plastic fits together, which shows how quickly these are put together and boxed. Other than that, this is a great little bargain gun.

I bought two of these for my grandson so he could let his friends use them. He owns some other more expensive Airsoft guns and these are great for running around the yard . My wife even is having fun playing with them!

I just got it and i have to say,it looks good. I was hoping that I would be able to buy extra mags for it but instead the bbs are loaded from the top front of the gun. the flashlight it came with is dim when you first turn it on. But once you tap it a few times, it turns bright. the FPS on the gun is decent; I test fired it on my hand and it hurt a bit more than the handgun I have. Overall, i would recommend this gun to beginners.
