Sean, it only works on a M4 carbine, or a M16 assault rifle, but nothing else. So you should buy a RIS compatible magazine.

Bob, a wind up mag means it has an extra, huge compartment right behind the actual mag part, and you fill both compartments up, and when the actual mag part runs out, you simply wind a wheel on the bottom, and the big compartment's BB's roll out, refilling the magazine. Hope this helped.
