If you?ve been stymied by closed access repeaters, here?s a low cost PL? tone generator that easily attaches to any rig. What?s PL? It?s a Motorola trademarked name for subaudible tone squelch also known as CTCSS. The QuikTone encodes and decodes any of the 39 standard CTCSS tones with quartz crystal accuracy and no tuning or drift. Jumpers allow easy frequency programming and built-in digital audio filtering eliminates falsing and interference from normal speech. The QT-1 uses the latest single chip CMOS technology, runs on 5 to 15 volts DC at very low current and is a small 2 x 1 1/2 inch size. Although the QT-1 finds its main usage in two-way radio it can be used in any application where it is desired to control something remotely via any audio path. Optional case size: 5?w x 1 1/2?h x 5 1/4?d.
