For the price, it is a good M248 SAW FPS-255 Spring Airsoft Machine Gun. As for the function, it is spring loaded. Therefore, it is a single shot weapon; not automatic. As for the size, this is not a 1:1 replica of the M248 SAW. As for the construction, the base material is plastic. Overall, I suppose you would need to pay more for metal 1:1 replica. Personally, I'm 6ft 3in (192 cm) so this looks better in the hands of almost anyone smaller; specifically my 4 year old nephew. He loves it!

For everyone who wants to know the fps, it's 255 with .12 gram bb's. For a stronger gun to create more damage, use .20 gram bb's, hek it fires so fast it might be able to shoot through a soda can or glass.
