I had one of those Microcoptors, it was fun to fly, but my wife wasn't a fan of it bussing around the living room. She banished me outside, where no Microcoptor can go. So I started searching for an outdoor model, I settled on the Metal Eclipse, the biggest factor was Price on this purchase, I wasn't looking to buy an expensive bird and smash it to bits on my roof, for the price this seemed to give you the best bang for the buck. It arrived the 24th, so I gave it to myself for Christmas, I got the look, but I was excited to get this thing in the air. First thing you have to charge the battery for 3 hours, yup 3 hours! I'm sure there is a better way, but as of this writing, I have not found it. For those 3 hours you get about 10 minutes of flight time, i'm a bit erratic still, I tend to use power to correct, so my flight times could be lower than normal, but do yourself a favor and buy a few extra batteries. On to the flight: Now I have had some experience with indoor flight, so i knew how to take off, no issues there is plenty of lift straight up, left, right you're great, just don't try to fly it forward anywhere there is even a slight breeze. The wind of any speed throws this thing around like a kite. There are a few modifications as mentioned above, I have not used them yet, but a bit of weight in the nose cone helped a little. On a calm day, this thing is fun, I'm already looking for the next step up. If you have a large garage (don't forget to put the cars outside, you will crash!) this is a great chopper, or outside on a very calm day.

I got my Gyro Metal Eclipse in a short amount of time , five days actually (from HobbyTron in Ca. to Pa). It arrived well packaged and undamadged. I was suprised from reading so many dismall reviews about this company, but had no bad experience. I did have minor problems with figuring out how batteries went into transmitter, but after that eveything was good. First flight went very well. No crashes and no broken parts. If you take your time and throttle slowly you should be ok. It does however fail to respond to forward control, but a little weight under front of battery did the trick. You can find some helpful tips and modifications online at Youtube.com. also many people have said that you cant get parts for the Metal Eclipse, but actually it is a Double Horse 9101 without the stickers or badges and there are plenty of web sites that sell those parts. Amazon.com and E-Bay sell lots of these 9101 parts. I hope my review was helpfull as I was confused at first, but did plenty of research and found HobbyTron to have the best prices.
