The Worlds Largest Gyro RC Helicopter is here! Introducing the brand new Colossus Gyro METAL 3.5CH RC Helicopter. Measuring in at 4 feet long the Colossus RC Helicopter is a massive beast that is super easy to control with its brand new Gyro Technology. No more crashing, no more replacing parts, the GYRO has changed the Helicopter industry completely, making this RC Helicopter super easy to fly and maneuver. Great for people of all skill levels, this bad boy features a coaxial rotor a single rear rotor for precise movement and a GYRO for increased stability whether flying or hovering. This RC helicopter has a metal body making it strong yet light weight so you don't have to worry about breaking anything when you land it a bit too rough. It can go forward, backward, up, down, left, right and hover. What really makes the Colossus stand out is the built in gyroscope making it automatically stabilize allowing you to focus on flying instead of trying not to make it crash. The best thing about the Colossus is that it comes ready to run right out of the box, there is no assembly required. All you need to do is charge the battery and get 8 AA batteries for the transmitter and you are good to go.
Transmitter: 8 AA Alkaline Batteries (Not Included)

TrendTimes.com has a list of readily available parts for the Colossus including gears. I ordered gears last week for mine. As for the chopper, after the tail rotor blade change it fly's fantastic. With mine there is no warning when the battery is getting low. It just stops running completely, NO WARNING AT ALL!!! Luckily it has'nt been more than 2 or 3 ft off the ground when it shuts down. I do fly it 200' and higher but only for a couple minutes. I sure dont want it to drop from that high when the battery dies. I would recommend this product but not for full price. Got mine onsale for $139.00 I would never of paid $300.00, just my opinion.

My upper gear is bad as well. No luck finding one yet.
It is a good flying heli. I installed a tail rotor blade from a 53-QS8006-GYRO-3-5-Channel-Metal-RC-Helicopter-GT-Model. Huge difference in forward and backward movement. The wind does not affect it anymore. Be careful if you do this, start on low setting and get used to the change before switching to high speed.

Have flown RC for over 30 years. Beautiful helicopter but flew only backwards and was unstable. Replaced battery with heavier and larger battery, moved vertical fin one inch foward and replaced rear horizontal propeller with a larger one. Stable and more control and flies forward even with a light wind. Need to know where to order parts.

i have flown many 4,5 and 6 channel helis and i thought it would be fun to get a 3 channel to have fun with. it was one of the best desicions i ever made. but the only problem was that the heli constantly went backwards... ealily solved by gluing or taping 3 aa batteries under the battery pack. if you are thinking about buying this definately buy it!!!

after charging the flightpack and tightening most of the screws on the airframe i took the heli in the backyard for some hovering.the first thing i noticed were the toy grade electronics.the throttle on the main blades is proportional but the throttle on the tail motor is not.the heli always wants to fly backwards even with the trim set full forward.so i added a 2 ounce lead weight right under the battery, and that helped to level it out.the battery provides 3 to 5 minutes of flight.if you're a beginner pilot never try to fly this heli in any sort of wind.i recommend a gym or barn for first flights, once this beast starts moving it requires a lot of room to manuever.also parts availability is very slim.

ok after ten charge cycles i noticed the flight times were extended by a minute or two.after trying many times to fly in just a light breeze i realize the tail motor is underpowered for a heli this size.the breeze just takes it away.so i did some research and development and found an n60 tail motor from my blade cp pro2 heli would work as a new tail motor.with the new tail motor mod i can now fly in a light wind.it now has more power and flies better and faster in forward and backwards flight.parts availability is still a hassle.the only site i found parts was www.detelex.com.yes amazon has parts but only the flybar, main and tail rotors.it just so happens i need an upper main gear because the motor mounts are fixed and you cant set the gear mesh,so it chewed many teeth from upper main gear.now shes grounded until i can find a parts retailer in the states.

I am new at this. And I would like to purchase a new canopy and battries. I have been unlucky in my quest. So I do not know how to rate this based on parts being available?

Run time about six min. Found it to be slow when going forward. Corrected problem by ziptieing a medium sized bolt and nut under the frame under the battery mount to increase nose weight. Flys very well now and is more stable during takeoff.
Found it stalled twice during first flight as if it lost radio signal from only a few feet away. Added about 8 inches of wire to antennae and attached a small nut to the end to make it hang straight down. Seems to have solved that problem. Still don't know of total range, but I know for sure it's more than 100 ft.
Gave it much more forward speed, but cost it power in reverse. Recommend taking heli to a GOOD hobby store and having two or three battery packs made up.

The first flight the back perpeller came out of its tube. But it was my fault there was something wrong on the remote and i did not fix it yet. But after i took it to the shop and fixed the perpeller i flew it at the park and it flew like a real helicopter. you can so tell that it has a gyro technolagy. Hobby tron does not cheat you. what you see is what you get. Beast helicopter

I'm also curious as to what the battery life is during flight, and distance from the receiver before signal begins to lose contact.
