The Gold Colt 25 is a very popular airsoft gun. This gun is patterned after the gun that was designed in 1897 by John Moses Browning. He presented it to the Colt Company USA in 1900. It was the first prototype that could work using the short recoil of the barrel.
The "Hop-Up" system creates friction on the BB as it is shot through the barrel. This puts a spin on the BB that helps it to fight gravity, wind resistance, and air friction allowing it to be shot farther.
